Goals of Virtual Energy Manager Online
Virtual Energy Manager Online was designed so that the user can access his/her data quickly and with a minimum of input. In order to accomplish this goal, several objectives were defined and implemented:
- Objective 1: Since certain information is frequently requested, the process to display this information should be as simple as possible. To meet this objective, many reports were pre-defined and configured for the user, thus allowing the selection of the report to also define the Time Period, the Unit of Measure, the Display Interval and the Graph Format.
- Objective 2: Navigating the site hierarchy must be easy, intuitive and rapid. To meet this objective, the site hierarchy displays in an easy-to-read 'tree' structure. Each 'branch' opens quickly and scrolls the view so that it is aligned on the left.
- Objective 3: Expert users must have the ability to easily modify and customize reports to satisfy their needs. To meet this objective report settings are easily available, and may be adjusted in the cases where standard reports are not sufficient.
As a result, the user can easily select the sites in question, choose the report to view, and immediately see results.
