Menu - Analysis Types
The Menu lists the tools available for analyzing data using the Virtual Energy Manager. Details about each tool may be found within their respective topic discussions.
Reports: Reports allow the user different ways of analyzing data. Click on the report type name for more details.
- Interval: The Interval Analysis provides time history information suitable for a wide variety of monitoring and diagnostic purposes.
- Historical: A Historical Analysis allows the user to quickly overview one year of monthly peak demand and energy consumption to find trends.
- Trends: A Trends Analysis quickly reviews the last thirty days of peak and average daily demand.
- Summary: A Summary Analysis provides statistical information for each selected channel over the time interval selected.
- Custom: Fully user definable report - provides access to all data filtering options such as, time of day, day of week, month of year, data smoothing; provides user definable time range and output by year, month, or day values; allows user to select data set and define output parameters such as maximum, minimum, average and summarized values.
Profiles: Profiles provide ways of looking at data over a time period.
- Typical Day: The Typical Day Analysis provides the usage of each channel as an as-metered interval for a typical day over the selected time period.
- Typical Week: A Typical Week Analysis provides the usage of each day during a typical week over the selected time period.
- Monthly Summary: A Monthly Summary Analysis allows the user to view a specified month's energy usage by day.
Thresholds: Thresholds allow the user to monitor energy usage over or under a user-determined limit.
- Maximum/Minimum: Threshold Analysis identifies and displays occurrences above a high threshold and/or below a low threshold.
- Summation: A Summation Threshold Analysis identifies and displays the sum of the values in an interval that occurs above a high threshold and/or below a low threshold.
- Spikes: Spikes (or needles) occur when the peak demand level is reached for a relatively short period of time.
Benchmark: Benchmarks allow the user to compare energy usage between two sites of different size or weather conditions.
- By Square Feet: Creates a daily view showing the kWh/square feet for the selected sites providing a more useful comparison for users to identify savings opportunities.
- Weather Normalized: This view allows for the average ambient temperature to be taken into account for comparisons of energy consumption between sites.
- Homepage Reports: (when available) links the user directly to the web page reports of their sites. This will launch in a new window and not affect the Report Area or other actions.
Saved Reports: Saved Reports are reports that the user creates and stores in the system for easy retrieval and viewing
Alarms: Alarms allows the user to utilize a previously saved threshold report for detection and notification of situations where energy usage is over or under a user-determined limit.
- Create New Alarm: This function allows the creation of an alarm, based on a previously saved Threshold Report.
- View Existing Alarms: This function allows the user to view, modify or delete a previously created alarm.
- View Triggered Events: This function allows the user to view events that were triggered during alarm detection.
